Ghorepani is inhabitants by the Poon Magar and the hill was named after it. The main attraction for the tourist is Poonhill from where the tourist can see the mesmerizing views of sunrise and Himalayas. Mostly during the time of March-April and October-November the number of tourist coming to the Ghorepani are high.

Ghorepani is filled with the tremendous natural beauty and consistes of 9 different types of Rhododendron. It is said that Major Tek Bahadur Poon is the founder of Poonhill and names it as the hill of the Poon, which eventually became the Poonhill.

Ghorepani Poonhill is the light trek and suitable for the all aged groups and the trek usually starts from Nayapool and ends back to Pokhara. Ghorepani is always the best choice for the hiking lovers.
